This 81 years old dynamo is the most precious container for the ancient sources and forms of Balinese dance and theatre, embracing both male and female styles. Her little frame hums with the energy of eternal creativity and even at this ripe old age Cenik continues to play like a child, flirts like a teenager and dance like a master in her prime.
At 76 she danced the JOGED PINGITAN at the Legong Festival. Weaving her magic on stage she held the audience spellbound for close to an hour. At the close of the performance the applause seemed endless.
From the integrity and strength of this SOURCE came one of the most well known names throughout the world in Balinese dance – DJIMAT.

THE BRIDGE BUILDER
As the son of Djimat, Nyoman first began dancing at age three, winning first priges in national competition for Baris, Jauk and Topeng at age 13. With his inherited dedication to the Balinese roots Nyoman expanded his fathers foundations with the PUSAKA ARTA ENSEMBLE. At age 34 Budi Artha has already directed, performed, taught and lectured to international audiences over forty times. Along with leading the foundation Nyoman has worked full time for Bali’s Cultural Department, is raising his own family of dancers and received his MASTER in performing arts.
Budi Artha’s mind is much too active to be satisfied by the arts alone. His vision is the BRIDGE, the means and ways of providing and presenting the essence of Bali to the outside world. TRI PUSAKA SAKTI, is Nyoman Budi Artha’s new vehicle-designed to more fully encompass this noble vision.
THE PERFECT PARTNER
Sutarini brings to the lineage and foundation a rare gift. At five years old she began to dance and while still very young was taken an as prize pupil of the great Legong maestro Sang Ayu Moklen.
Through deep and intensive training Putu came to epitomize the delicate feminine beauty of the Legong.
After giving birth to three sons (securing the future of the Cenik lineage) she continues to radiate and dance with the youthful grace and glow of a palace princess.
